Three separate communities, bound by history, interests and lifestyle, the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford have developed a cozy relationship, to the benefit of all three. The three communities began their united front when their school districts merged in 1959 to form the Hurst/Euless/Bedford Independent School District. The three cities really began to take off when Bell Helicopter built a plant in the area and DFW International Airport opened in 1974. In this area, the airlines still remain a prominent economic force, and many residents in the tri-city area work for the airline industry, as well as Fort Worth and Dallas. The Trinity Railway Express really helps move commuters along, although if you prefer a car, the drive time to Fort Worth is only 18 minutes and 23 minutes to Dallas.
