Sweeter than your grandma’s berry-peach cobbler, the town of Prosper will warm its way into your heart with its truly southern hospitality. Back when cotton was king and particularly prosperous, J.C. Slaughter suggested local residents name the town “Prosper” after a generous harvest. Today, Prosper is home to more than 100 businesses and 9,350 residents.
Families here find the quality of life excellent with Prosper’s “Exemplary” school district, seven parks, and fantastic youth soccer programs. Outdoor enthusiasts should take note of Prosper’s lush surroundings, with the local hike and bike trails surrounding Town Lake Park and many equestrian trails that crisscross the area.
