Rockwall TX

Though Rockwall County is the smallest county in Texas, it is also one of the top five fastest growing counties in the United States. Established in 1854, the town was named “Rockwall” for a naturally joined geological formation that uncannily resembles a manmade wall. Residents of Rockwall enjoy a high standard of living with premiere commercial and recreational facilities such as The Harbor or the city’s Historic downtown. The Harbor offers public access to the shoreline of the lovely Lake Ray Hubbard as well as lighted facilities for both involved events such as weddings and more casual affairs such as picnics, sunset strolls, or family outings.

The city of Rockwell also offers its residents 18 community and neighborhood parks, as well as annual events such as the popular Concert by the Lake series. A great showplace for Texas agriculture, the Rockwall Farmer’s Market is a seasonal fresh produce market that operates May through September. Rockwall’s retail shops offer specialty merchandise that includes everything from designer jeans to unique antiques gifts. The mission of the Rockwall Main Street Advisory Board is to create an inviting, historic downtown district that serves as a center for recreational, economic and cultural activity for residents and visitors of downtown Rockwall. As such, the historical preservation movement involves more than saving the city’s historic buildings. Economic growth, urban revitalization and the creation of new jobs are all vital issues city leaders address through the rehabilitation of historic structures.
