Most of Rowlett is located in Dallas County, with a portion in Rockwall County and was rated in the Top 25 “Best Places to Live” by Money Magazine. Named for Rowlett Creek, the present day town of Rowlett is located on the western shores of two peninsulas of Lake Ray Hubbard. Rowlett claims 80 miles of the lake’s shoreline and leases almost 700 acres of the adjoining property that belongs to the city of Dallas as a recreation area and wildlife habitat. More than 400 businesses are located in Rowlett, which offers a fantastic, business-friendly atmosphere and is only 20 minutes north of Downtown Dallas on I-30.
